Bovale

Bovale is a name attributed to two Italian wine grape varieties that likely share a clonal relationship with both possibly even being clones of the Spanish wine grape Bobal. The most widely planted clone is the Bovale Grande which has larger berries and the Bovale Sardo which has slightly smaller berries and tends to produce a more austere wine. Both clones of Bovale are found primarily on the island of Sardinia where they are used mainly for blending.[1]
